John Wakefield has been a portrait photographer in for over 30 years. He owned and operated Wakefield’s of Kansas City, Inc., from 1982 until 2001. He is past president of a four-state chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers. He has won several national awards for his work presented by the Professional Photographers of America.
John lectures and teaches to a wide range of audiences including professional photographers, college photography seniors, and adult education groups. His writings and photographs have appeared in trade magazines and national publications.
The Federal Reserve Bank, Puritan Bennett Corp., Marion Merrell Dow, Inc., Dow Chemical, Utilicorp, United, Yellow Freight, Twentieth Century Investors, and many more have awarded John commissions. A partial list of John’s clients includes former President Ronald Regan, Ambassador Charles Price, Don and Adele Hall, Henry and Marion Bloch, the Richard Green family, Paul Hensen, Ewing Kauffman, Fred Lyons, Archbishop Keleher, Burt Dole, George Brett, Oleg Cassini, and James and Virginia Stowers.
